Review: Transformers #20

As we return to normality of comic releases, the latest issue of Transformers is out this week from IDW Publishing.

“Swindle’s.” If you’re looking for something in Cybertron’s black market, your best bet is almost inevitably Swindle’s, an illegal den of contraband energon, skitter racing, and more. It’s great for those looking for a way to get their hands on weapons and supplies, and greater still for the Security Operatives who know what’s going on and are about to start a raid…

It’s good to have a recap, the Transformers comics usually do, but given the release schedule, this is useful.

The news report idea is a good one. Making the Autobots look bad, or incompetent adds to the tension on Cybertron.

And there is some serious tension. The general public are angry and there are those out there who are stocking the flames. Risers, Decepticons or others.
Others want to make a profit, and that is where Swindle comes in.

I like this issue, it works well with Prowl and being a kind of police procedural story, with interrogations and busts. Adding in Mindwipe and his power works well, as does his escape method.

Things are going to explode soon.
