Review: Transformers #25

This double size issue of Transformers #25 is out now from IDW Publishing.

“War World” begins here! It’s all led up to this. With Megatron making his play for Cybertron, Ironhide, Chromia, and Hound launch an operation to free those he has imprisoned. The future of Cybertron rests in uncertain hands in this double-sized, action-packed issue!

This is where it all kicks off.
As we would expect from a larger issue (and a #25) this is the turning point for what is to come.

Not all of Megatron’s plans come up right, but it seems he has the situation that he desires. His announcement to the citizens of Cybertron was quite fitting and a little chilling. I like some of the wording and the promises he makes.

The supporting cast does well and there are some classic Transformer actions here – the gang is all getting together.

There are some humourous parts, although not many, and some sad bits too – the war is well underway and the casualties are piling up. The final third of the story is the part we knew it was going to be leading up to – and it is done so well – there are some nice hints there too. Starscream, Ultra Magnus and more. Then there is some more…

That final page made me cheer!
