iVerse Media Announces Digital Distribution Agreement With Archaia Entertainment
Award-winning publisher will also participate in new library distribution platform as part of their growing educational outreach.
Digital comics provider iVerse Media announced today, they will begin distributing titles from award-winning graphic novel publisher Archaia Entertainment. With an outstanding catalog of comics and graphic novels—including the Eisner Award-winning Mouse Guard and Return of the Dapper Men; fan-favorite series such as Rust, Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal, and Fraggle Rock; and new releases such as Cursed Pirate Girl and Iron: Or, the War After—Archaia will be the latest publisher to join the rapidly expanding offerings of the Comics Plus app from iVerse.

iVerse Media founder and CEO Michael Murphey said, “Archaia has established a
brilliant quality and aesthetic of storytelling that we are proud to be associated with.
With Mouse Guard leading the way, our Comics Plus: Library Edition app will have an
even greater value for the library market.”

In addition to the Comics Plus app, Archaia’s titles will be made available to librarians
and their patrons everywhere via the Comics Plus: Library Edition app, which makes
thousands of high-quality titles accessible to school and library patrons on any device,
anywhere, and at any time. Brodart Company is the library reseller representing iVerse
for the library market.

”We’re excited to partner with iVerse as our strategy this year is to expand digital
outreach to additional platforms and markets, and with iVerse, we are doing both,”
said Archaia President Jack Cummins. “We are particularly thrilled to be part of the
launch of the Library Edition. We have sought to continually offer quality content to
young readers and we’ve always valued our relationship and presence within schools
and libraries. This platform will help stimulate a new audience of young readers
through the growing array of everyday digital devices.”

Temple Run Is Right Now (Possibly) The Best Selling Comic On The Planet | Bleeding Cool

Wow! This from Bleeding Cool highlights where Ape Entertainment and iVerse Media have got it right. In addition to their massively successful ‘Pocket God’ titles they seem to have another home run!

The plan seems to be the properties of addictive games and work from there!

The price point is a workable one, and the teams they have behind them seem to have the right mix!

Okay, it is a Tuesday. Tomorrow this might change.

But right now, Temple Run #1 is selling tens of thousands of copies a day. It is the top paid book app for iOS and sales are only increasing. DC just made their line available in this fashion and they don’t come close.

Published by Ape Entertainment, the same company which published Pocket God Comics which (and I can announce this now) has just sold a million copies of its Pocket God Comic digitally,  with 19 issues available.

Temple Run is based on the massively successful (especially in our household) app game which seems to have popularised the “eternal runner” format immensely.

99 cents. Worth a peek?

iVerse Media & Ape Announce Exclusive Partnership

Comics publisher Ape Entertainment and digital comics innovator iVerse Media jointly announced today that content produced and marketed under the Ape Entertainment and KiZoic imprints will now be available digitally on the Comics Plus platform as part of an exclusive partnership.

“We’re excited that our Comics Plus platform will become the exclusive digital venue for great Ape Entertainment Comics like Pocket God, Richie Rich, Strawberry Shortcake, the Dreamworks titles and more,” said Michael Murphey, iVerse CEO. “We’ve long shared Ape’s commitment to entertainment for all ages and we’re pleased to provide our readers with such an outstanding range of choices.”

Though iVerse and Ape Entertainment have collaborated for years, this marks the first time that Ape has entered into an exclusive arrangement for digital distribution.

“We’re thrilled to be working with iVerse on this new initiative,” Brent Erwin, Ape Entertainment COO. “Michael pioneered the digital comics medium and we could not be happier to have him and his company as our exclusive digital partner. We’re particularly delighted to debut our upcoming comics on ComicsPlus, especially titles like Fruit Ninja, Temple Run and Squids.”

Current plans call for Temple Run to make its Comic Plus debut first, followed by Squids and then Fruit Ninja. Future titles and release plans will be announced soon.

An Ape Entertainment/iVerse collaboration that’s already borne fruit is the Dreamworks Comics app, currently available from the App Store. It features all of the Ape Dreamworks comics, including Shrek, The Penguins of Madagascar, Madagascar 3, Kung Fu Panda and Puss in Boots. Future plans call for a comic prequel to “Rise of the Guardians”, scheduled for release on October 17, 2012.
