Review: Faithless

I spotlighted this new independent title here, and am please to say that it was an engrossing read!

I say engrossing and I’m right – I got to the end of this initial issue and I felt disappointment – hoping to read more of the story!
With a combination of mythologies and religious iconography there is a lot to take in here, and it does feel a little heavy in the initial pages, but we seen hit the stride!
As an initial issue, we get some origin, some explanations of the situation of the world that the story is set!

The story is well done in this initial issue, with action, mystery and romance – it all fit well and packed this first issue. I especially liked the political issues which obviously stem from humans, demons and angels coexist in.
The action scenes are well crafted with some excellent panels and full of action within them.
The minor (maybe) characters are fleshed out sufficiently here, with some good impressions and feelings about what we should be thinking about them – it’s too early to tell if we are being lead down the garden path with some of them though.
This was the result of a Kickstarter fund with some good examples on the excellent art which links up well with the story being told.
If all the issues are as well packed as this one, there could be an epic here!
