I enjoyed #1 and Rat Queens #2 continues the fun. Mixing a swords and sorcery style with drunk vulgar humour this is a funny read.
There are some serious bits too, and they are the over reaching arc of the story, but the way it’s put together is excellent. The art mixes the humour with something gruesome too! Something like Skullkickers, something like something else!
Sex Criminals #2 gives us a second origin of these…er….sex criminals! With the male side of the story we get a less subtle version of issue #1. Boys are a bit different to girls and we all know this. This issue gives us girlie mags, sex shops and….
….time frozen harry monk!
Now we’ve gotten past these origins we get closer to the main story which we have got glimpses of – the people (police?) in white who aren’t frozen by time!
Velvet #1 finishes a strong week from Image Comics with an excellent looking spy caper! I really like the build to this and it’s only until the last few pages we get an idea on where it’s going!
There’s some slick art here, and this is something I look forward to reading more!
