ComicBlitz are slowly getting some attention, and I managed to get some information about what we can expect.
Keep an eye out tomorrow for 10 Questions With Jordan Plosky – the founder & CEO of ComicBlitz!
From what I understand is that ComicBlitz are going to offer an all-you-can-read Netflix model for digital comics, I wanted to know who was involved…
Of course, right now, we can’t give any specifics, but one thing that I can tell you, is that we have interest from several Top 20, and other smaller, yet notable publishers. We’re very happy with the response from the publishing community so far.
Hopefully we will get specifics closer to launch!
When I asked about platforms I received a good response –
We are fans of both iOS and Android, and recognize the large fanbase each accounts for. We will most certainly be available on all platforms.
Being based in the UK, I have had some issues with international rights – Doctor Who, some of the Manga on Comixology, so was interested to see how that would be dealt with –
As a US based company, we will be launching first in the US, and branching out internationally is a no-brainer. The UK would absolutely be among the first international communities to experience ComicBlitz! This takes a bit longer however, due to contracts, and rights in regards to what can and can’t be sold. That attributes to part of the delay, and of course, you cannot mess around with legalities!
I also got confirmation on the pricing, as I wondered if it would be tiered…
As of right now, we offer 1 fixed price, of $9.99/mo. That’s in US dollars. And for that price, you get unlimited access to all the content we provide. We’ll have to figure out the conversion rate for each individual country.
Finally the expected launch date –
As of right now, we are estimating around the 4th Quarter of this year, or 1st Quarter of 2015.
Sounds interesting, and I’m looking forward to hearing more…
