Review: Zenith – Phase 2

Zenith is the only superhuman popstar. He's saved the world, had a number one record – but his only interests are women, drugs, alchohol and fame. But Peter St. John and the unexpected reappearance of Ruby forces the superbrat to take off and tackle a nuclear threat to London – from his own creator! The second hardback volume of Grant Morrison and Steve Yeowell’s breakthrough superhero story is now available to pre-order. This groundbreaking work catapulted Morrison into the comics firmament and is one of the all-time classics of 2000 AD.

If phase 1 was the starter, then now we're onto the main course with Phase 2!

With this collection we get into the history off Zenith and those who came before him. We get to see why this was such an amazing collection. We not only get a rich, diverse amount of characters, but we also get characters from different universes! Zenith discovers a lot, maybe not all, and although he's growing as a person and a hero, he's still a brat. Keeping this in its original black and white is an excellent choice for 2000AD as its takes nothing away from this story.

Roll on Phase Three!
