10 Questions With…

Lucius Cross – Artist of BioWars!

  1. Who are you and what are you working on right now? (2 questions in 1, I know!)

My name is Lucius Cross. I’m an artist working on Biowars, which is a digital comic series and soon to be video game. I am also a meat popsickle.

  2. What drew you to digital comics?

Oh, ho ho! What DREW me to digital comics! I see what you did there, you silly goose! That’s funny. You’re funny.

  3. Webcomics or digital comics?

Why not both? *cue Latino family raising me up on their shoulders in celebration*

  4. What do you think works with digital comics?

Ease of distribution. You can create something and get it out to a large audience pretty much instantly without the need for a publisher, as opposed to print comics.

  5. Can digital comics replace print comics?

Absolutely. Digital is the future of pretty much everything, including comics. It’s already happening. It might take another decade or so, but eventually print comics will go the way of the newspaper. As sad as it may be to comic book purists, it’s inevitable. Embrace the change, don’t fight it. Come to the dark side, let the hate flow through you… Sorry, what were we talking about?

  6. How can print comics work with digital comics?

    Through teamwork, of course! There’s no I in digit… there’s no I in prin… there’s no I in comi… Ah, forget it!

  7. What don’t you like about digital comics?

The way they silently judge me over dinner. Just let me have my glass of red wine and stop looking at me like I have a drinking problem, digital comics! Look, one glass at dinner does not constitute a problem. There are multiple studies that show it’s actually beneficial to your health, so stop acting so high and mighty! Besides, I’ve seen what you do late at night on those seedy internet image boards! Oh yeah, I know all about it! YOU’RE the one with the problem here, digital comics, not me! Leave those poor Japanese school girls alone, you sicko!

  8. What digital comics/webcomics do you read?

     I… I can’t read.

  9. Where do you see digital comics going from here?

Space. It’s the final frontier, you know.

  10. Who do you think we should look out for in digital comics?

There’s this new digital comic series called Bio…worlds? No, that’s not right. Bio…wares…walls…warts? Wars! BioWARS! Yeah, that’s it! Check those guys out over at biowars.com. They make some pretty awesome comics, from what I hear. Definitely worth a look!
