Review: The Black Hood #2

The Bullet’s Kiss, Part 2
NEW SERIES FROM DARK CIRCLE! The acclaimed crime series continues with another dose of deadly noir by two masters of the genre. When you steal from the underworld, the underworld will come looking for you — even if you’re a cop. Greg Hettinger has unwittingly crossed the city’s most fearsome drug lord — a man only known as “The Connection,” who sends two of his most fearsome lieutenants after Greg. It’s one thing to have trouble come knocking on your front door. But it’s another when it’s already inside your house…

Well, last weeks was a dark introduction to this re-vamped character, and here things hit their stride. With our drug addled cop making an enemy he was unaware of, the action slows down. Although as not as fast paced as #1, this issue introduces the world the Black Hood is in – already introduced as a legacy type character, so nothing is set in stone for the eventual fate of the scarred cop!

I really enjoyed some of the thought processes here, with the cop justifying himself, and the crocked politicians dealings we are heading towards a fun story!
