Review: Grimm Fairy Tales: Little Mermaid #3

Zenescope’s brand new re-imagining of a classic continues…

Is this it for Erica? Her life and the future of Atlantis hangs in the balance as the Sea Witch makes an offer to the King of Atlantis that is impossible to refuse. Does Erica have what it takes to survive?

One thing Zenescope do well is create follow-up stories to existing mini series and drop you right in without having read the previous ones. And here is an excellent example. In this series there are things that have gone before – not only on the page, but behind the scenes. These are all laid out in a non-jarring way. The story is smooth and although it flips from scene to scene, you don’t feel left out – unlike Erica!
The classic story of the Little Mermaid is switched on its head, but there are points we remember, and additional aspects! All very well done!
The Sea Witch is especially well done – I’m looking forward to seeing what she is up to!
I really like the art, the smooth tones set the underwater scenes especially well!
