Reviews: Darth Vader, Howard The Duck & S.H.I.E.L.D

A different mix of comics from Marvel this week!

Darth Vader #4 continues the story of Vader building his army! There are some excellent back and fourths between Vader and his new ‘partner’. Aphra has no illusions on her potential fate. The two new droids also add a fair amount of humour and horror in equal parts. This seems to be the strongest Star Wars title out.

Howard The Duck #2 makes the jump from an earth-bound story by whisking Howard into space for an adventure with the Guardians of the Galaxy! There’s a lot of meta-humour here, which makes it worth a second read! The art is fun and detailed with a lot of in-jokes as well!
Next issue looks fun too!

S.H.I.E.L.D. #4 adds a new cast member – Susan Richards! Again this is a one shot story which combines what we like about the TV series and the larger Marvel universe. This issue features an extraction of someone with ties to Hydra. Sue has a particular set of skills which put her in the perfect position for this role. Obviously things don’t go exactly to plan, but fear not Coulsdon is here!
