I would say the preview text (above) sums this up very well….
…no?…
…ok…
Chewbacca obviously survives and I was wondering how this story was to be stretched out to a longer story, so we get the mine owner making deals with the Empire and bringing them in to the next issue. The fact that no-one understands the Wookie’s speech makes this all the better, we get some misunderstandings and some assumptions. An enjoyable read which can be read outside of the main stories and films!
Darth Vader #12
Vader’s machinations have him painted into a corner…but no one puts Vader in a corner. The hit series’ second arc concludes here!
Completing this arc and leading into the ‘Vader Down’ crossover, Vader manages to get his way and also to avoid any other scrutiny! It’s quite a vague ending to the arc and there are still some unresolved aspects that Vader will have to deal with, but it looks like Vader Down may deal with some of them! This was a slower arc that the others, but did have its highlights – the Imperial investigator for one – I hope we see more of them!Illuminati #1
“Bad guys win every day… why not us?” How do the villains of the Marvel Universe live in a world where the sky is constantly filled with heroes? What do they do when they want out of that life? There is no escape. No future. Who saves the villains? The Hood believes he might be that savior. He wants everyone to have a place at the table. Now all he needs to do is build his army. Featuring Titania, Mad Thinker, Thunderball, Black Ant and Enchantress, Illuminati is a tale of villains just trying to survive in the All-New All-Different Marvel Universe.
I’ve always like the Hood – with his delusions of grandeur and ideas – and now it looks as if he’s going one step further with a villains Illuminati! This has a nice build, although a slightly predictable ending! I think it has some legs to it, and would like to see their hands in other titles as they get built up! Titania gets well rounded off here, with her response to She-Hulk and the Luke Cage and Iron Fist!
