Showdown on the Smuggler’s Moon! Plus, Lightsabers! Loads of Lightsabers! And finally: the truth about Sana Solo!
The end of this arc features, Han, Chewie, the droids, Luke and Leia all doing their stuff with some additional action from Dengar and an appearance of Darth Vader. That’s pretty much a full house if you ask me! In this issue Luke is in the arena of the Smuggler’s Moon and has to fight, R2D2 does his stuff and we get many characters using lightsabers – Leia has an interesting comment on this (as does Han) We also get the details of Hans’ marriage and where that all came from! A good issue to wrap it all up!
Star Wars: Vader Down #1
When Darth Vader accidentally finds himself facing off against the Rebel Fleet on his own, the rebels will learn the true strength of the Dark Side of the Force! Once Vader crashes on a nearby planet, the Rebellion is willing to risk everything for this once-in-a-lifetime chance to take out one of their biggest enemies! Luke! Vader! Leia! Aphra! Han! Chewie! And all manner of Droid, good and evil!
This is Vader being his bad-ass self. How he got the reputation he deserves in the Star Wars universe is here! Vade – crashed and alone on a rebel held planet. Luke is on planet also – and he crashed too. The rebels have sent out a squad to capture or kill Vade and also sent an army on route (including Han, Leia, Chewie and C3PO) to help. Aphra and her droids are on there way as well. Vader takes down ships by himself in space, then uses the force to take them down with rocks! Excellent!
Kanan #8
Young Caleb Dume has not yet been to war…but now, the Jedi Temple is under attack! Can a Padawan really make a difference?
This flashback to Kanan/Caleb’s past brings us up to date as the young Padawan finally gets a master after impressing during an attack on the Jedi temple! It’s well done and shows us glimpses in Caleb to what Kanan is today! It also adds an interesting dimension to his new master as she heals from wounds in the ongoing clone wars. Back to present day though, Kanan has more problems as he still hasn’t recovered from his wounds after being stabbed and the Empire are on their way!
