This issue serves as a re-introduction to the John Constantine character. It’s done well here, showing what a bastard John can be – using people to get his own way meanwhile conning and lying he way out of things – using the minimum amount of actual magic required. This was Constantine back in London, gritty and nasty and what we can expect from a Hellblazer comic. What I didn’t expect was the cameos of Shazam and Wonder Woman (Swamp Thing I could expect) I wonder if this is something that will happen in later issues!
