Review: TMNT Universe #1

Introducing a new era in TMNT! – My thoughts on this spin-off series!

There’s a new series spinning off of the main story – I think with the aim of introducing new characters and details that will add to the main series, without actually detracting if you don’t read this run.
I enjoyed it – there are two stories in this issue and that looks to be the format for the future as both of them finish with a “to be continues”. The first story introduces a couple of new characters – both of them foes and both of them very interesting. That’s not to say that they are on the same side though. There’s some good TMNT banter with the brothers, and there is some interesting characterisations – especially Raph! The second story features Leonardo, and his battle by himself against some Foot Clan members (so may be based before the current happenings in the ongoing series)
