Review: Judge Dredd Megazine #377

A new story from the Dredd movie inside!

My thoughts on this months Judge Dredd Megazine

377

Concluding last months story, Monkey Business completes the arc (for now?) of the gorilla Judge impersonator (Jimp). It’s starts off well, with an origin of sorts of the ape as he learns to become a Judge, in the mold of [easyazon_link identifier=”1904265790″ locale=”UK” tag=”3milyea-21″]Judge Dredd[/easyazon_link]. Moving on we get a lot of action and a grudging bit of respect from Dredd. The ending shouldn’t be a surprise, this is Dredd we are talking about.

Part 6 of Blunt gives us an insite into what Blunt is all about, as the action continues. Although things look to be getting sorted out, it looks as though things are going to get worse before they get better. Blunt is an intriguing character as he swings around in this weird jungle! It looks as though the wilds aren’t finished with the survivors yet!

Angelic is a new story, and looks to be giving us some more background to the Angel Gang – Linc, Mean Machine etc – and this story concentrates on the early days of ‘Pa Angel’. Pa Angel with his adopted son Linc, looks to to be trying to make a new life for himself, but things aren’t going to plan. There is still the gruesome parts, and the nasty things that are what we expect from that family, but there is also a bit of honour there, as we discover with Pa’s on form of justice!

Anderson features in our final story – it’s a new one and is from the world of the [easyazon_link identifier=”B01D8LYL16″ locale=”UK” tag=”3milyea-21″]Dredd[/easyazon_link] movie, not the comic version. With Anderson out on the streets, you can see that the events from Peach Trees is still effecting her, as her latest perp has gang-related problems as well as something deeper – in the mind. I did get the feeling of Judge Death, but I don’t think they will go that way, this is going to be something else! An interesting story, and it’s good to see a less confident Anderson (as opposed to the comics version).
