Reviews: Grimm Tales Of Terror, GFT Annual 2016 & GFT Genesis

My thoughts on this weeks digital comics from Zenescope

This issue wasn’t so much horror and I think I could see where it was all leading, but it was an interesting read and one that could be explored more! The build up was a bit obvious, but i still liked the twist at the end of the tale – perhaps that’s because I’ve been so used to the others! The art is excellent, especially when there is art of art!

This special Grimm Fairy Tales concentrates on Skye – still in mourning after her mothers death she is struggling with what to do.
Well, after a chat with Shang, she decides to sleep on it and then it all happens. Perhaps a dream, perhaps not, but there are some good scenes here as Skye works out her emotions, issues and where to go next. It’s a really good new beginning, as well as an ending to the old series.
The new Grimm Fairy Tales starts in December!

This issue is a nice introductory issue to the current heroes of the Grimm Fairy Tales.
We kick off with Van Helsing – it gives us a brief idea as to what she’s about and a good battle between her and some vamps (as she tries out some new tech) I really enjoyed the art and the final panel is really striking!
Robyn Hood is next giving us a brief rundown on what bugs her life now – including some aspects of New York. It’s a quick read, but again serves as an introduction to the character well.
Wonderland leads directly from the final issue of Wonderland, and you think that things are mad now, just you wait! The Queen Of Hearts has a plan and it looks like there is going to be more madness in Wonderland if this bloody tale is anything to go by!
I was surprised to see Death Force in this, but it’s an interesting part – especially as his mini series hasn’t finished yet! Nevertheless, I liked this and it may introduce a new villain for Death Force!
Finally we get a Grimm Fairy Tales teaser, which looks interesting and may hint towards something bigger than the individual parts!
