We’ve got a mad God, demons, angels and the humans are stuck in the middle. There’s quite a lot going on here. We’ve got Lucifer planning (or scheming), Gabriel trying to get himself in order, God looking to assert his authority and then there are plots afoot in hell as it looks like we’re going to get a battle for the throne of hell!
This is a lot to squeeze into one issue, but it is managed well here. Each charter gets a lot of time and the story is built well. We get an introduction to a new character to the series and there is a distinct Constantine feel about her (even with the language!)
This was the beginning of a new arc and it looks like we’re building to the final act!
The art really feels like it’s hitting it’s stride here with some well laid out scenes and some brilliant ‘Lucifer’ moments!
