Reviews: Robyn Hood – I Love NY & Spirit Hunters

Robyn Hood: I Love NY #8 & Spirit Hunters #3

My thoughts on two of this weeks digital comics available from Zenescope Entertainment

As we head towards the home straight, this issue features Masumi as a guest star as it seems that Robyn is being hunted by a mystical hunter from across the realms. Although this issue starts off slowly, it adds something to the Highborn mythos that can possible be used later, as well as giving us some good action in the second half of the comic. It ends interestingly, as we discover a little more about the hidden enemy of Robyn and her reasons (well part of them) and it looks like we’re on the way to moving towards the final chapter of this maxi-series. This works well as a one-shot, while still building towards the bigger picture!

It seems that we’ve got a bit of fire starting in this issue of Spirit Hunters. There’s also a little bit of history for one of the team too! There are some hints – perhaps some that will lead into the bigger story, there is also the curiosity of the benefactor of the Spirit Hunters too, and I expect this will build up as the series progresses.
This was a nice one-shot story which fleshes out the characters well for the larger maxi-series run. I like the art and the flames are really well done!
