Review: Geek-Girl #4

As Lightning Storm's threat escalates, it's time for Ruby to deliver. Ready or not.

Mysterious super-villain Lightning Storm came out of nowhere and hospitalized Maine’s long-term resident super-heroes, Neon Girl and Pit Bull. Neon Girl tasked new-hero-on-the-block Ruby Kaye a.k.a. Geek-Girl with finding and stopping her. As Lightning Storm’s threat escalates, it’s time for Ruby to deliver. Ready or not.

We get an origin of sorts from Lightning storm and it’s an interesting one as there are some sympathies with the villain. What’s she does with the power on the other hand is something different and does change any sympathies you may have with the character. We get a return – of sorts – from the A-List heroes, although they are not much help and may have caused more problems than they fix. Ruby continues to juggle her two identities, but you can see that it is getting harder and harder for her. On top of that, the inventor of the glasses wants them back. This is put on pause for now, but it is still in the background.

Geek-Girl #4 is Out Now and available in Regular, Digital and Variant editions at www.geekgirlcomics.com and www.comixology.com – along with new Variants of Geek-Girl #1-#3 for newcomers to her mini-series.
