Reviews: Injection, I Hate Fairyland, Eclipse & Curse Words

Injection #12, I Hate Fairyland #12, Eclipse #6 & Curse Words #4

My thoughts on four of this weeks digital comics from Image Comics

Brigid continues to investigate the goings on on the moors and she finds out a lot. There is an interesting link to the first Injection arc, as well as some new characters too. These are not directly linked to the Injection, but it’s good to see that Brigid is also building something around her – the same as the other members of the original team. There is some brilliant folklore going on here, combined with excellent art and design, and colours. I always look forward to what’s happening next.

Gert tries to take the ‘good’ path and as you would expect, things don’t go well for her. She looks like she’s really trying, but Gert’s natural ‘badness’ shines through. I like the ninja samurai aspect to it all and it’s really good fun to read. The artwork and colours all go really well, with most of the action happening in the snow. There is also a classic trope of people not giving reasons for actions here, which is really true in comics and movies.
Next issue looks to be a ‘what if?’

Cielo and Bax’s story continues and it is interspersed with some interesting flashbacks to just after the flare. Cielo is currently the most interesting character who is still discovering what happened before and who is her friend. Although I’m not too sure on that myself!
Bax on the other hand meets the previous Mayor who has a ‘Walking Dead’ feel about him! We do discover more on the mystery of the men who can withstand the sun though – and they look like they have links to the new mayor!

Wizord looks to have found a way to get his mojo back and get back in the groove of magic. He, and his Koala companion are using the magic of belief to power his magic. It seems to work and Wizord is happy that he can get it without hurting anyone. The problem being is that it does seem to have some repercussions! He gets a big chance to use that magic though with tsunami coming in as he flies home. I really like the beard being a measure of his power!
Wizord has two problems though – the immediate one being the assassin sent to kill him, while the other being an Interpol agent who doesn’t believe!
