My thoughts on two digital comics from Zenescope Entertainment – Red Agent: Human Order & Van Helsing Vs The Mummy of Amun-Ra
It’s nice to see a comic based close to home – in this case the team go to London, and we join just after the agencies London branch has been pretty much destroyed! That’s not to say its all we get in London, other than a brief graveside scene, the whole issue is London. We get a couple of new characters too – one is the leader, but she doesn’t last long. The other is Silk – a teleporter who seems to use his powers well. I like the art and style of him using his teleportation – although it wasn’t made obvious at the beginning! We get a brief misunderstanding, and then the fight scene kicks off as Alpha tracks the group. The agency are getting an idea of what type of orginisation Alpha has (his use of soldiers show he isn’t working alone) and we learn a little more at the end! Next issue moves us again – this time to the mountains!
We get the end of the history with the Mummy as Van Helsing knows it, but of course there are some unanswered questions. Some of those look to be answered in the next issue. This issue is a bit lighter on action compared to the previous issues, but that is to be expected as we all need to catch up. It seems there are plans and plans here, as we still don’t know all of the reasons. Nevertheless it was a good read. It’s nice to see the commissioner get some action in, even though there was a cost.
