My thoughts on Prog 2033 of 2000 AD
Judge Dredd: Hoverods by TC Eglington (w) Brendan McCarthy (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A new story and a new arc kicks off with Dredd being called in to investigate a missing person. I like his attitude about this – but, as the missing person is the son of a very rich citizen, he has to do it!
Meanwhile the son is off having a good time – until things take a sinister turn!
Defoe: Diehards by Pat Mills (w) Colin MacNeil (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
It looks like Daniel does have some power over the reeks – or the power of God? – but Defoe is skeptical, and he seems to be right. We’ve still got the mystery of who the new necromancer is, with some classic panels with all the suspects looking suspicious! Next week, we may get some answers!
Brink: Skeleton Life by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)
The investigation into the smuggled people continues, and it looks like it goes right to the top. Bridgit’s investigation technique seems to be working, but will she let her emotions get in her way. There is something else happening here, so it will be interesting to see where it goes!
Scarlet Traces: Cold War – Book 2 by Ian Edginton (w) D’Israeli (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
It looks like the war isn’t over yet – the martians still have one trick to play! I like the bit of revenge in this issue to – someone getting their comeuppance!
Cursed: The Fall of Deadworld by Kek-W (w) Dave Kendall (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
It looks like the Dark Judges have everything in hand. We get an interesting look at the nature of Judge Fear. And a lot of death! There is a glimmer of hope though as Fairfax is taken away!
