Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2035

My thoughts on Prog 2035 of 2000 AD

Judge Dredd: The Fields by Rob Williams (w) Chris Weston (a) Dylan Teague (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

A new story arc starts with Dredd and a new cadet making waves in the Mega City. Originally I thought this was a lightish story, with the new cadet learning the hard way what it means to be a Judge. you can see the issues he has – meanwhile Dredd hardly features. The ending takes a darker turn and I wonder where this well all go!
Brink: Skeleton Life by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)

Things go all to hell as Bridget and her companion learn more about who is with them and who is against them. The current chairwoman is also learning some things too, and she manages to just get herself out of trouble. We still don’t know what or who is all behind this though!
Defoe: Diehards by Pat Mills (w) Colin MacNeil (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

OK, call me cynical, but I was fooled – it looks like we know who is summoning the dead and controlling the reeks. This issue is the ‘secret origin’ story where we find out the who, how and why. Defoe is not impressed and it looks like next issue we will have his vengance!
Grey Area: Back in Black by Dan Abnett (w) Mark Harrison (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

Grey Area is back and we have a bit of a catch up – for us and the ‘old’ crew.  We also get a chance to meet the new crew and the status quo and then we’re back into it all. Hopefully we will have some good tension between the two crews and something happens!
Hunted: Furies by Gordon Rennie (w) PJ Holden (a) Len O’Grady (c) Ellie De Ville (l)

Hunted is adding more people all the time, with new hunters and some further details on what is being planned. Of course we’re not going to find it all out yet!
