Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2041

My thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD – Prog 2041

A classic full-on action cover with the greysuits!

Judge Dredd: Ouroboros by Michael Carroll (w) Paul Marshal (a) Quinton Winter (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

We get the first part to a new story arc with Dredd and it’s a little confusing. Dredd is investigating a drugs bust, and things seem to be a little out of sorts. Blank memories, Panda’s and a brick throwing informant!
On top of that, someone from Dredd’s past adventures is now in the way! Why? What’s going on?

Future Shocks: The Body Politics by James Peaty (w) Andrea Mutti (a) Simon Bowland (l)

An interesting future Shocks and I always love to see the series, but I did feel that something was missing in this issue. The story in itslef was fine, but I felt that the ‘shock’ was too obvious and could be seen coming! 🙁

Greysuit: Foul Play by Pat Mills (w) John Higgins (a) Sally Hurst (c) Ellie De Ville (l)

This was a nice mix in this issue. First there is the escape in the jungle and what is happening there, with equal measures of action and some good humour too – I like “song tourettes”. Next up is the political or management side, with the gentleman’s clubs, latin and hat to do to stop the plebs from finding out! The action is building in this excellent thriller series!

Grey Area: Border Ops by Dan Abnett (w) Mark Harrison (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

The problems in Grey Area are ramping up, as we get a good look at how bad Grell is. Executing anyone he doesn’t like the look off, that’s including one of his own team if needs be. It looks like the knives are out for him, but things are to be dealt with carefully – if not, then it could get a lot worse!

Hunted: Furies by Gordon Rennie (w) PJ Holden (a) Len O’Grady (c) Ellie De Ville (l)

It looks like there is a change in plan here, with the main players – the Aliens, the Norts and the Southerners all coming together. It looks like this is a ‘Watchmen’ style plan, bring people together against a common enemy!
