Reviews: Darth Vader & Doctor Aphra

Darth Vader #3 & Doctor Aphra #9

My thoughts on two Star Wars digital comics from Marvel Comics

Darth Vader’s quest leads him to a Jedi who has avoided being killed in order ’66. It’s an interesting read, and I hope to see more of this particular jedi as he, and his vows are very interesting. Is this vow a new thing? Or have I missed it from the previous cannon?. The action at the moment is pretty one-sided as Vader avoids a number of traps and problems on his way to his big battle. Things don’t go to his plan though and we get an interesting ending. The advantage of this ending is that it drags out the storyline even more.
The art is excellent, and I like the gradual destruction of Vader’s suit – especially the legs!

Things look like they are going right for Doctor Aphra! She seems to have sorted the problem with Rur taking over machines, and is looking to sell him to the highest bidder. As part of that plan, she has collected some of the worst people in the Universe! Aphra seems to have thought of everything, but the is Aphra we’re talking about – when do things go 100% right?
The problem in this is the droids, and they seem to have found some loopholes of their own, which make this a very interesting arc!!
