The Black Sable #2 & Grimm Fairy Tales 2017 Halloween Special

My thoughts on two of Zenescopes digital comics out this week – including a Halloween Special!

The Black Sable #2

Captain Sable and her pirate crew set out to plunder a small mining colony. But what was supposed to be an easy mark brings them into conflict with the galaxies deadliest and most ruthless alien race…the dreaded Sha’Kar!

I really like that cover – understated, yet showing a lot of promise!
The beginning of this part gives us a good look into the outlaw nature of this expansion into space. Those who profit from it and those who raid those who do. The Sharks were given a good introduction last issue (albeit dead) this time we get a look at their ship, and I love the design!
We also get a look at who the pirates will be fighting against – from the corporation. He seems as nasty as you would expect, and I’m hoping he comes to a sticky end!
Next up is Captain Blood, who is a lot more bloodthirsty than even his name would suggest – I get the impression that even his crew aren’t his biggest fan. A discovery though means he’s going to be looking for the treasure too!
We get a good cliffhanger as the crew are caught in a shipping graveyard (possibly like the Bermuda triangle?) and this looks to be a real problem….

Grimm Fairy Tales 2017 Halloween Special

It’s that time of the year again, for the Grimm Fairy Tales Halloween Special! Join, Mary Medina as she goes on a haunted tour in New Orleans where the ghosts may turn out to be a little more than just urban legends!

Mary goes on a haunted tour of New Orleans and it really is haunted. What comes next as she works her way through the main hauntings in town are a number of visions – each worse than the last.
It is only towards the end we begin to realise that these are not random and there is a link between them all!
The action is quite gruesome and fits well in the Grimm Fairy Tales universe, as does it for Halloween. The twists in the tale would also work well in Grimm Tales Of Terror too!
