Some thoughts on Prog 2000 AD – Prog 2060…
JUDGE DREDD: BLACK SNOW by Michael Carroll (w) PJ Holden (a) Quinton Winter (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
The arc finishes, but I get a feeling we will get straight into the next arc for Dredd next issue. There is an interesting team-up between the Judges of Mega City One & East Meg 2. I like Dredd’s use of an orbital bombardment! The fact of the the Judge recruited under the noses of Mega City One was well done, and harkens back to another time well!
SLÁINE: ARCHON by Pat Mills (w) Simon Davis (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
Concluding this arc, Slaine gets some help from a goddess and there is some stone-realted violence. The sending of the message was well done, and for a moment I thought it would be a long message that may have been distorted by the method of sending it!
But no!
The next book looks to be violent and have dragons!!
THARG’S 3RILLERS: THE HOUSE OF GILDED PEAK by Eddie Robson (w) Steven Austin (a) Gary Caldwell (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A good conclusion to this 3riller, with a good ending and a nice mix of fantasy elements in it. This really suited the 3 part serial of the theme and I enjoyed it!
ABSALOM: TERMINAL DIAGNOSIS by Gordon Rennie (w) Tiernan Trevallion (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
This arc also concludes, with Absalom tendering his resignation in an excellent fashion. I like the way it was done, and the team is all there!
