Review: Grimm Fairy Tales #16

As Skye has watched the legends of the Middle Ages come to life in the present, a shadowy figure has secretly been controlling the pieces from behind the scenes. Once called Merlin the Magician he is ready to reclaim the power he once had…even if he has to kill everyone who stands in his way to take it back.

Merlin starts to make his moves in the main GFT universe, and Skye is really up against it here. Merlin and Morgan stick to their plan and it looks like Merlin has got what he wanted! The build up is well done, with a series of traps which get Skye to just where Merlin wants her! There are some nice big battle scenes too, with dragons flying and suchlike – it looks like we’re going to get more of this in future issue!
I liked the art and the storytelling in this issue was well done. Hopefully the pace will pick up in this storyline, because we’ve had some of the introductory mini’s done and now we’re onto the main story!
