Review: Little Girl #3 From Devil’s Due

In Little Girl #3

The spirit of Abby May has finally found her parents, and prepares to unleash a storm of retribution. However, when she discovers the truth behind her death, her spree of revenge grinds to a halt. In the penultimate issue of this heart-stopping horror story, this vengeful spirt discovers her true killer.

When a cursed stuffed animal is given to an unknowing victim, the spirit of Abby May, a vengeful little dead girl, lashes out blindly at the living. However, as Abby’s bloodlust leads her back to those responsible for her death, she begins to piece together the truth about how she died and how she lived.

This terrifying, emotional powerhouse horror story from Marvel novelist and Destiny, NY creator Pat Shand and artist Olivia Pelaez (Modern Dread, The Kitchen Witch) challenges every ghost story you’ve ever been told.

The penultimate issue of Little Girl give us a look into the reasons of the death of the Little Girl. Abby May is a vengeful spirit, but she is still a little girl, and there are some nice points here. I like the build up to this issue, with the link between the true crime that is on TV a lot at the moment, and the supernatural haunting.
The story builds up well, with some repenting from some and some stubbornness from others. I like the connections and how they have all been made, this all adds up well to the final issue.

The art is excellent – that and the colouring work really well. The black & white spirit in a world of colours – really well done. The reaction shots are well told, with Abby May in the background reacting to some of the goings on are excellent.]

This is an excellent mini-series and I’m looking forward to the ending!
