Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2114

Some thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD – Prog 2114, with a conclusion to Tharg’s 3hrillers and more!

JUDGE DREDD: BLOCKS BUDS by Kenneth Niemand (w) Jeff Anderson (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
This mini story concludes in a fun way – and in a way I expected. It doesn’t make it any less fun though and the combination of Dredd and the ‘Buds’ was very funny and well done!

BRINK: HIGH SOCIETY by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)
This issue gives us a closer look at the madness of the sect. It’s pretty much all talk, but it’s pretty compelling! Some of the comments were excellent, and one panel made me laugh out loud. Next week may be a little messy!

SKIP TRACER: LOUDER THAN BOMBS by James Peaty (w) Paul Marshall Dylan Teague (c) (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
Skip’s plan starts here, with some information on the bombers. The scenes with the bike is really well done, and some excellent reaction shots. It look as though Skip has another enemy, as well as more mystery!

THARG’S 3RILLERS: THE SCORCHED ZONE by Eddie Robson (w) Nick Brokenshire (a) Gary Caldwell (c) Ellie De Ville (l)
The final part of this 3hriller and we get many of the answers. It’s a lot of action and the zombies are really well done. The ending leaves a little hanging, but that is the nature of the stories sometimes!

FIENDS OF THE WESTERN FRONT by Ian Edginton (w) Tiernen Trevallion (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A great battle between the king
bat and the vampire. It’s mainly in the skies, but has some excellent scenes. It’s not over yet though!
