Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2115

Some thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD – Prog 2115. Including this week a new three part Tharg’s 3hrillers and a new Judge Dredd story arc

Prog 2115

JUDGE DREDD: MACHINE LAW by John Wagner (w) Colin MacNeil (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
A new arc from John Wagner and it plays nicely after the events in The Small House. It’s looks like we’re going to have a change of leadership and Dredd is looking into it. He gets distracted though and it seems he’s looking at an alternative version of himself. A good lead in with some nioce plot and some good action.
BRINK: HIGH SOCIETY by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)
The bust starts to go really wrong, and I can see things getting really screwy from here. I like the way it built up, but it was something you could see coming. Of course with the group not being able to trust their eyes, things could go anywhere!
SKIP TRACER: LOUDER THAN BOMBS by James Peaty (w) Paul Marshall (a) Quinto Winter (c) (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
Skip’s investigation continues, but it looks like someone is on is trail! This issue doesn’t have too much going on in terms of action – of course mentioning Skip’s brother isn’t a good thing. There seems to be more than this than meets the eye!
THARG’S 3RILLERS: KEEPER OF SECRETS by Robert Murphy (w) Steven Austin (a) Pippa Mather (c) Ellie De Ville (l)
This new story seems to have some ancient mystery about it. It’s built up well, with some hints of solving the problem. The curse seems pretty brutal, and I wonder where it will lead – the best type of these stories!
FIENDS OF THE WESTERN FRONT by Ian Edginton (w) Tiernen Trevallion (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
This issue brings us full circle, with some more vampire vs King Bat action. It’s all in the skies and both use their powers and skills well. The ending is interesting as the vampire is technically on our side, so who was the bad guy??
