Review – Van Helsing: Sword Of Heaven #4

Some thoughts on the latest issue of this Van Helsing mini-series from Zenescope Entertainment.

Be careful what you wish for!

Liesel finds the reclusive Punjabi Prince she was looking for, but he’s not himself these days. The unlucky Rajah is possessed by an evil presence more powerful than anything the vampire huntress has ever encountered. The quest for the mythic Sword of Heaven could end in a grave for the heir to the Van Helsing legacy!

Van Helsing: Sword of Heaven #4

This issue ramps up the pace and adds some extra stakes to the story. Van Helsing continues to be a headstrong character, and I like the way she charges in.
There is not only Vampires to deal with, but also the Prince. The Prince is not what we thought and I like the way he is so….civilized!
Van Helsing is in a tough spot here, and she’s good at getting out of those – another method for dealing with Vampires was on show here, and this time it doesn’t particularly work to Van Helsing’s advantage!
We get a little history here, which is a good thing – I like the way it built up, and I like Van Helsing’s logic in working out where to go.

We’ve still got two issues to go, and I’ll be interested to see where this will end up!
