Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2120

Some thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD – Prog 2120

JUDGE DREDD: MACHINE LAW by John Wagner (w) Colin MacNeil (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

The political problems with the robot Judges is continuing. It seems to have spread as well – now the Judges are starting to turn. I don’t know where this is leading, but Dredd is going to have to get involved soon. Meanwhile, talking of Dredd, he has an interesting discussion with Hershey after the revelation of last issue.
The fallout and aftermath of this is going to be interesting!

SKIP TRACER: LOUDER THAN BOMBS by James Peaty (w) Paul Marshall (a) Quinto Winter (c) (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

Things all start to click into place for Skip Tracer. The tagging is worked out – although too late to stop a massacre, but maybe there is some time to stop another one! This story gives me a bit of a ‘Running Man’ feel!

GREY AREA: HUNTED by Dan Abnett (w) Mark Harrison (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

There’s a lot to take in in this prog with the escaping forced-labour grey area/black ops duo. I like the soothsayer in the crimelords court – he looks familiar, and it adds an interesting bit of humour for this serious story. The final panel adds a nice cliffhanger!

THARG’S 3RILLERS: TOOTH AND NAIL by Andi Ewington (w) Staz Johnson (a) Abigail Bulmer (c) Simon Bowland (l)

This is an interesting 3riller – there doesn’t seem to be anything particularly spooky or twisted about this story – so far! What’s we’ve got is a mob hit on another mobsters gang, and the fallout of the survivors! It’s a bit John Wick, but I don’t know where it’s going to go!

JAEGIR: BONEGRINDER by Gordon Rennie (w) Simon Coleby (a) Len O’Grady (c) Annie Parkhouse

Jaegir starts negotiations with the Southers, and it seems to be going well. I don”t know where this is leading- it seems it will cause some problems back home for Jaegir, but maybe she is just thinking about saving her people?
