Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2124

Some thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD – Prog 2124

JUDGE DREDD: UNEARTHED by Rob Williams, Chris Weston (w) Patrick Goddard (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

A throwback to an older time for a new arc for Dredd. I like the build up to this, and you just knew that there was going to be something bad under all that rubble! It looks like it’s all going to ramp up in the next issue – but in a way it’s a cleaner role for Dredd!

KINGMAKER: OUROBOROS by Ian Edginton (w) Leigh Gallagher (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

A fun conclusion to the first part of this story. It plays on the Hobbit tropes really well and I like the way it finishes off. The darker side is pretty grim, but well done! A good re-introduction!

SURVIVAL GEEKS: DUNGEONS & DATING (BASIC) by Emma Beeby, Gordon Rennie (w) Neil Googe (a) Gary Caldwell (c) Annie Parkhouse Ville (l)

We get the rules here, and things don’t look good for the Survival Geeks. We’ve got a power mad DM and a maze to work through! I like the way it all set up and it made me smile!

MAX NORMAL: HOW THE MAX GOT HIS STRIPES by Guy Adams (w) Dan Cornwell (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)

A Max normal story, and his own little part of Mega City! I like the build up and the way it all fits together. The final panel was pretty funny with the Chimps reaction!

GREY AREA: MAKING HISTORY by Dan Abnett (w) Mark Harrison (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

Things are not going well, and it looks like there is going to be an all-out war. This issue brings back the god-star and a lot of trouble!
