Review – Atomic Robo: The Dawn of a New Era #4

Some thoughts on the current adventures of Atomic Robo from IDW Publishing!

Atomic Robo just opened Tesladyne Institute’s doors to the next generation of Action Scientists. Meanwhile, an old comrade has an urgent message about the Vampire Dimension: it’s bad. Bernie might be speaking with the real Queen of Hollow Earth, instead of a hallucination? Jury’s still out on that one. Oh, and y’know the subplot about Robo’s secret robot son? Well… it’s fine. Everything’s fine.

There’s a lot to take in in this issue. And it’s not just for us, the reader!
Robo’s “son” Alan is making some great progress, and there are some interesting conversations between them. It looks like there are going to be some interesting ones between Alan and the rest of the staff soon as well as his presence is now know to the rest of the staff.
Talking of staff, under the ground Bernie is making some real progress with the crystals, and he is learning what is needed of him and the battle he seems to have ahead of him! This was a fun bookend to the issue. Mid-way through and the students get a different type of work out from their new tutor – and that’s not the worst for them all!
I enjoyed this issue and it looks interesting for the future of the series!
