Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2129

Some thoughts on the latest Prog of 2000 AD

JUDGE DREDD: THE LONG GAME by Michael Carroll (w) Mark Sexton (a) John Charles (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

The Long Game arc finishes off here, but I’m sure this isn’t the end of the story! Dredd is well used in flashback here, and we discover the links that bind them! I’m looking forward to this rearing it’s head at a later date!
This was a good build-up arc!

SCARLET TRACES: HOME FRONT by Ian Edginton (w) D’Israeli (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

The invasion is on, and it’s carnage. I love the colouring tones in this issue, it hightens the panic really well. Is there a plan??

MAX NORMAL: HOW THE MAX GOT HIS STRIPES by Guy Adams (w) Dan Cornwell (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)

Max’s backstory continues and we move from one cliffhanger to another! I like the tension in this and there is some interesting points raised!

FUTURE SHOCKS: THEY SHOOT MONSTERS, DON’T THEY? by Billy Higgins (w) Tony Allcock (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

A classic future shocks. Alien planets, fighting and monsters (more than one) I like the way it built up, and the ending was well done – and a little grim!

KINGMAKER: OUROBOROS by Ian Edginton (w) Leigh Gallagher (a) Ellie De Ville (l)

A full on battle here in a tight space, I like the battle and the power-up. It was an interesting end of the battle and the twist in the end!
We’ve got to wait two weeks now!!
