Some thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD from Rebellion – available now digitally and in print!
JUDGE DREDD: THE SAMARITAN by Kenneth Niemand (w) Staz Johnson (a) Chris Blythe (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
The hunt for Dredd begins. While he is under the care of the Samaritan, we get to see the Judges searching. There is some nice banter between the robot Judges and a good mistake by Robo-Judge Patsy. This is an interesting build!
SCARLET TRACES: HOME FRONT by Ian Edginton (w) D’Israeli (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
A bit of political commentary here, and a look at some of the other citizens. It’s a pretty tense issue, and the ending builds us up even more!
THISTLEBONE by TC Eglington (w) Simon Davis (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
The creepyness continues, there’s a nice bit of vagueness about the story – is it in her head, or is it real. Possibly both. But there are shadowy figures watching….
Still a great read!
ANDERSON, PSI-DIVISION: MARTYRS by Emma Beeby (w) Aneke (a) Barbara Nosenzo (c) Simon Bowland (l)
A new Psi-strip with Anderson and Karyn moving on from her last big arc. There are some problems of control, and I like the two-sided problems the Judges are having. It seems there is more to this than meets the eye though!
ABSALOM: TERMINAL DIAGNOSIS by Gordon Rennie (w) Tiernen Trevallion (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
Delving deeper, it seems that Absalom’s team are in a lot of trouble. Although they don’t know it yet. This was a quick read, but builds it up nicely!
