Reviews: Eve Stranger & Dick Tracy: Forever

Some thoughts on Eve Stranger #2 from Black Crown and Dick Tracy: Forever #3 from IDW Publishing – out now in print and digitally!

Eve Stranger #2

Eve Stranger can do anything thanks to the nanotech that she has to inject every week to stay alive… anything except remember who she is or where she’s been. Her talents sold by the shadowy E.V.E. Project to the highest bidder, Eve’s latest mission takes her to history-drenched Prague to face a monster who must be stopped. High-octane adventure, weird science, and doomed romance meet the jet-set in ‘Retrograde’!

This issue gives us a nice rundown of the premise (twice actually) and also gives us some good background. It really kept me hooked, and I like the set ups.
We also find out some more about those behind Eve – E.V.E. – and what they do and how they do it. All very clandestine, but, we’re no closer to getting some reasons! Nevertheless, this was an enjoyable, action packed read, I like the fighting and the running with the bulls. It also seems Eve has an ally, but I don’t how that will pan out!
An excellent series!

Dick Tracy Forever #3

Dick Tracy is Sisyphus, pushing the law boulder up the hill as he struggles for reason and order in a world with none. His attempts at law and order are met with crime and chaos in the form of unpredictable and absurd villains. But Dick Tracy will never give up trying, no matter the era or incarnation. Join Eisner Award-winning creator Michael Avon Oeming on a startling case through time and space!

I love that cover!
This was a futuristic 2000 AD style read, with future tech and criminals and cops! I like the attitude of Dick Tracy in this one and he reminds me of a certain Judge!
The art is excellent, and fits right in with the futuristic read.
