Some thoughts on this week’s 2000 AD – Prog 2158
JUDGE DREDD: THE HARVEST by Michael Carroll (w) Nick Percival (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
Dredd is back in the city and he’s got an interesting case. It looks like a serial killer with a preference for taking body parts. The art is excellent and the attack scenes are excellent!
DEFOE: THE DIVISOR by Pat Mills (w) SK Moore (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
Defoe’s plan comes out – and there are some problems. I like the fight scenes and the final (nearly) reveal is excellent. I’m looking forward to the next prog already!
BRINK: HATE BOX by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)
some interesting political problems here, and I wonder where it is all leading too. I like the wrap up afterwards, it adds to the feel of the strip with some good procedural information.
THE FALL OF DEADWORLD: DOOMED by Kek-W (w) Dave Kendall (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)
The psi-attack is dealt with in a very special way. I like the three groups attacking, defending and counter attacking. Things are going to be a while before they are sorted though!
HOPE: UNDER FIRE by Guy Adams (w) Jimmy Broxton (a) Ellie De Ville (l)
Hope gives us a commentary of what is happening now, and we get the how too. Magic always has a price, and it looks like a way has been found to pay it!
Brr!
