Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2167

Some thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD – Prog 2167

JUDGE DREDD: FUTURE CRIMES UNIT by Rory McConville (w) Jake Lynch (a) Jim Boswell (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

The toenail museum?? urgh!
This is an interesting one – time travel is never a good idea, and the problems with future crimes are highlighted here. Is there something else going on? Dredd seems unsure!

BRINK: HATE BOX by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)

Kurtis is in a tough place as we come towards the end of this arc. There is a revelation – which is used to some advantage, and a good cliffhanger ending. I like the way it is all being set up!

PROTEUS VEX: ANOTHER DAWN by Michael Carroll (w) Henry Flint (a) Simon Bowland (l)

Vex ‘heals’ and Midnight eats. She was very restrained and I like the way it built to the ending of the issue. We finally get to see the stakes in this issue!

THE ZAUCER OF ZILK: A ZAUCERFUL OF SECRETS by Peter Hogan (w) Brendan McCarthy (a+c) Len O’Grady (c) Jim Campbell (l)

The fancy pants get dealt with and I wonder if Zaucer is making problems for the plans against him – without even knowing. It seems he has a tough decision to make!

FERAL & FOE by Dan Abnett (w) Richard Elson (a+c) Joe Elson (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

We get a bit of backstory with Wraith here, with some old ‘comrades’ meeting up with her. It adds a new twist to the story and raises the stakes. I like the addition too!
