Some thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD – Prog 2168
JUDGE DREDD: FUTURE CRIMES UNIT by Rory McConville (w) Jake Lynch (a) Jim Boswell (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
This was an ending that I expected from Rory! A fun finish to what could have been more serious. I may have been lead down a path by the SJS, but I enjoyed this 2-parter!
BRINK: HATE BOX by Dan Abnett (w) INJ Culbard (a) Simon Bowland (l)
This wrap up was very interesting, and I wonder if there is going to be anything else falling out from it. The mop-up of the gangs will be interesting, but will that mean someone stronger will rise up in their place?
THE ZAUCER OF ZILK: A ZAUCERFUL OF SECRETS by Peter Hogan (w) Brendan McCarthy (a+c) Len O’Grady (c) Jim Campbell (l)
Zaucer starts to get to the bottom of things, but it seems he may be too late. There are some good humour parts here, and the fancy pants are being tidied up!
PROTEUS VEX: ANOTHER DAWN by Michael Carroll (w) Henry Flint (a) Simon Bowland (l)
Another history lesson, but we find out how the Scorchers helped during the war. It all looks bleak for the planet, but there is a nice twist at the end!
FERAL & FOE by Dan Abnett (w) Richard Elson (a+c) Joe Elson (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)
This issue is all Wraith (save for a bit at the end) but it gives a good look at Wraiths thoughts and how she wants to move forward. It is also a good example of her skills and power – I like the action scenes and this was a nice aside to the main story!
Although there may be a return to this issue at some point!
