Review – TMNT: Jennika #1

A new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mini series is out this week – featuring new turtle Jennika.

Trying to acclimate to life as a mutant, the newest Turtle Jennika embarks on a solo adventure that will force her to come to terms with both her troubled past and conflicted present. Not to mention a brand new villain! Brahm Revel (Guerrillas) returns to reveal more of Jennika’s backstory from his acclaimed TMNT Universe tale “What is Ninja?”!

Brahm Revel, Rhonda Pattison, Jodi Nishijima, Sahwn Lee

Two stories in this issue, with the first being ‘The Cure For You’ The ‘cure’ in question only pops up at the end. We get some good back story on Jenni, what she was up to before we met her and how she got to where she is now. It’s an interesting read, and I like the way things all link together. The mosh pit scene is very well done, with some excellent art.

‘Time and Again’ is a shorter story, which also gives us a look into Jenni’s backstory. It’s a nice short, with some good art and adds to the whole mythos. While giving us two flashbacks!
