Review: Lucifer’s Knight #1

From Action Lab: Danger Zone – a new series, Lucifer’s Knight #1

Luke Anderson, a high school boy, lives a mostly normal life until he is attacked by a demon who wants to eat his soul. After this event, he learns secrets about his friends and the world around him. Now he must learn to live and survive in this new world.

This starts off as something dark but then changes into some really deep teen angst.
Luke seems like a normal moody teenager, but there is something more going on. It’s the nightmares he’s been having. You can see how it affects him through the school day and the passage of time is told really well. Especially getting through the lessons.
There’s something more though, something his friends aren’t telling him and this is revealed at the very end.
I enjoyed this introduction and it sets the story up well. Each character has their own traits and they are shown in their own light.
There is still a lot to learn about the world that this is set, and the characters – why is this happening? How is this happening? and what happens next?

The art is well done, with some excellent colouring to go with the mood of the panels – the demon was especially gruesome!
