Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2180

Some thoughts on this weeks 2000 AD – Prog 2180

  • UK and DIGITAL: 6 May 2019 £2.99
  • NORTH AMERICA: TBC
  • DIAMOND: MAR202060
  • COVER: CLIFF ROBINSON (A) DYLAN TEAGUE (C)
An excellent cover, featuring Aquila and his new ‘eyes’

JUDGE DREDD: CHIMPSKY’S LAW by Kenneth Niemand (w) PJ Holden (a) Quinton Winter (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

There’s some excellent worst-case scenarios here. I like the way it is all building up, and the chances of Dredd getting involved. Some dark humour!

SURVIVAL GEEKS: CRISIS OF INFINITE NERDS by Emma Beeby, Gordon Rennie (w) Neil Googe (a) Gary Caldwell (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

A nice twist, and this Crystal Maze style game is looking good with the teams split up. I like the beginning of this one.

SKIP TRACER: NIMROD by James Peaty (w) Paul Marshall (a) Dylan Teague (c) Simon Bowland (l)

An interesting ending, and something that builds on the previous stories. I like the smile in the glass, and this may be something to revisit.

AQUILA: THE BURNING FIELDS by Gordon Rennie (w) Patrick Goddard (a) Pippa Bowland (c) Jim Campbell (l)

Some excellent fight scenes here and the colouring is perfect for these scenes. I like the pre-fight banter, and the ending is very interesting!

HERSHEY: DISEASE by Rob Williams (w) Simon Fraser (c) Simon Bowland (l)

It looks like its personal now for Hershey, and she seems to finally understand what its like out here. I like the build up to it all. Training montage next?
