Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2184

Some thoughts on this weeks jumping-on point of 2000 AD – Prog 2184

Judge Dredd: End of Days by Rob Williams (w) Colin MacNeil (a) Chris Blythe (c) Simon Bowland (l)

The threat of something coming to Mega City One, and it looks bad. It looks mythic and dark. I like the build up to it all, and how will the Judges react to this bearer of bad news?

Sinister Dexter: Boys in the HUD by Dan Abnett (w) Steve Yeowell (a) John Charles (c) Jim Campbell (l)

The Rogue AI’s are causing more trouble for the gun sharks and there is a blast from the past for Finny. Nicely built up and the threat is coming to the fore!

The Order: Land of the Free by Kek-W (w) John Burns (a) Simon Bowland (l)

The fightback for the future, from the future. Nice use of time travel here, and some new problems.

Future Shocks: Journey to the Edge of the Earth by Chris Burnham (w+a) Len O’Grady (c) Simon Bowland (l)

This was a funny Future Shocks (they’re not all amusing) and I like the tropes it carries.

The Diaboliks: La Vita Malvagia by Gordon Rennie (w) Dom Reardon (a) Jim Campbell

Demons and car chases. I nice introduction here and some classic 2000 AD art and storytelling.
