Review: Van Helsing vs. The League of Monsters #4

The fourth part of this Van Helsing tale featuring the monsters from Van Helsing’s past and present in Van Helsing vs. The League of Monsters #4 from Zenescope Entertainment.

With Robyn held captive by the league of monsters, both Van Helsing and Hellchild must infiltrate their lair and rescue their friend before it’s too late. Meanwhile, Dracula’s plan begins to unfold, and using Robyn as bait is only the beginning.

Van Helsing and Hellchild walk into what they know is a trap.

This issue is pretty much all action, with Van Helsing, Hellchild and Robyn getting most of their way. I say most of it, as it seems that they haven’t accounted for everything. Van Helsing’s ‘plan B’ doesn’t work and it looks like a good cliffhanger as we go into the penultimate issue.

Hellchild has her own problems as she first has to deal with Frankenstein – then a get together with her old lover Dracula.

It seems that Dracula has other plans, and this doesn’t look good for all involved. I liked Van Helsing trying to get through to Julie and that may be the point that turns it at the end.

Things are really picking up in this series at the right point and I’m looking forward to what happens next.
