Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2213

A new year and some stories start while others continue from the Christmas special in Prog 2213 of 2000 AD from Rebellion.

Judge Dredd: Desperadlands by Mike Carroll (w) William Simpson (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

Taking Dress away from the city and his comfort zone, this looks to be a good small-scale story. The premise looks interesting and a suitable art style.

Durham Red: Served Cold by Alec Worley (w) Ben Willsher (a) Jim Campbell (l)

Following on from the Christmas prog. This story makes us distrust what we have heard so far about Red. I like her thinking and the action looks to continue.

Sláine: Dragontamer by Pat Mills (w) Leonardo Manco (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

More Slaine attacks. This time from the warp side. The dragon was interesting. The General seems to cool about all of this…

Proteus Vex: The Shadow Chancellor by Mike Carroll (w) Jake Lynch (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)

This is getting quite deep. I liked the logic about the unknown species. Not a lot of action here, but a good issue.

Hershey: The Brutal by Rob Williams (w) Simon Fraser (a) Simon Bowland (l)

We get a bit of an explanation about Frank. I think there is still more to come there. Hershey is very intense here.
