Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2218

A new Dredd story starts today and more in this week’s 2000 AD – Prog 2218 from Rebellion.

Judge Dredd: Health & Happiness by Rob Williams (w) Simon Coleby (a) Len O’Grady (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

Another interesting one-shot story. Dredd is on the peripheral here, but well done as he is more of a force of nature. A nice twist to the end though.

Durham Red: Served Cold by Alec Worley (w) Ben Willsher (a) Jim Campbell (l)

A nice twist to the story here, and an interesting development to the story – it’s going to be longer that’s for sure. Red gets her licks in and we get some about the other mutants powers.

Proteus Vex: The Shadow Chancellor by Mike Carroll (w) Jake Lynch (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)

Some more history of The silent and more politics by the looks of it. I like the flesh pilot idea and am interested in where this is going…

Sláine: Dragontamer by Pat Mills (w) Leonardo Manco (a) Annie Parkhouse (l)

The art is amzing in this series. I like the schemes, and we will be getting some more from this soon. Less violence in this issue, but it was tough to follow.

Hershey: The Brutal by Rob Williams (w) Simon Fraser (a) Simon Bowland (l)

It looks like Frank has ruined all the plans – we shall see there. I like the buildup and Hershey seems to adapt. It doesn’t look good though.
