Review: 2000 AD – Prog 2222

Back after a ‘regend’ hiatus’ this is 2000 AD – Prog 2222 from Rebellion.

Cadet Dredd: Who Killed Captain Cookies by Kenneth Niemand (w) PJ Holden (a) Quinton Winter (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

Continuing on the story of the death of Captain Cookies the welcome return of Chimpsky adds something new to the story. I like the look into the underbelly of Meg-1.

Nakka of the S.T.A.R.S. by Brendan Mccarthy (art+story) Roger Langridge (script) Len O’Grady, Brendan McCarthy (c) Annie Parkhouse (l)

A nice beginning to a three-part story. I like the exposition and the style of this all. The mix of tech and crime is really good. I like the robot priest idea here.

Thistlebone: Poisoned Roots by TC Eglington (w) Simon Davies (a) Simon Bowland (l)

Looking deeper into the myths and history of Thislebone. It’s pretty ominous here and I like the build-up to it all.

Proteus Vex: The Shadow Chancellor by Mike Carroll (w) Jake Lynch (a) Jim Boswell (c) Simon Bowland (l)

Some good action here, and we are building up to the speaking of the Silent? Maybe, but I like the way it is getting along. There are some answers to come.

Durham Red: Served Cold by Alec Worley (w) Ben Willsher (a) Jim Campbell (l)

Red gets some answers, but not all – she also looks to get a way out, so I think we’re going to get some good action here.
